• To give participants
an understanding of the place of Diversity work within
the Equal Opportunity framework.
• To look at the process of change in our organisation
/ society and our personal role within that.
• To begin to explore the complexity of our differences.
• To start to explore some of the skills that
enable us to communicate respect for difference more
effectively.
This session will move through five stages
to allow participants an opportunity to explore the Drum
Diversity approach to "difference".
We will look at the theory and rationale for the work
and what ideals underpin the way we approach people. We
will look at the context for our personal contributions
to Equal Opportunities and how this fits into the broader
context of Human Rights and Justice. The fourth stage
is to start to explore our own differences and how our
backgrounds and experiences shape our views of the world.
Finally we will start to look at some of the skills that
we as individuals can use to communicate respect more
effectively.
